(Senior) Java Engineer IoT

  • You will actively contribute to the energy transition by developing innovative functions for Vaillant heating systems within our IoT platform, creating smarter, more energy-efficient solutions for our customers.
  • You will design, develop, and implement software components across the full stack, from front-end to embedded systems, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
  • Your responsibility will include deploying your solutions on cloud infrastructure, automating operations in our Kubernetes clusters, and maintaining high quality through continuous testing and optimization.
  • You will collaborate closely with a diverse, self-managed cross-functional team, sharing ideas and shaping the software architecture to meet the highest standards of innovation and usability.
  • As part of the R&D team, you will help shape the future of smart home technology, contributing your passion and expertise to exciting projects that make a real difference.
  • Your dedication will support Vaillant’s commitment to sustainable and user-centric heating solutions that enhance comfort and efficiency worldwide.

What makes us successful together

  • Qualification: You hold a university degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: You have at least 5 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on Java.
  • Know-how and skills: You are proficient in modern frameworks like Spring Boot or Quarkus, and familiar with microservices architecture. You understand complex functional relationships within software systems and enjoy documentation. You are skilled in automating deployment and operational workflows in cloud environments, especially Azure Kubernetes.
  • Nice to have: Experience working with IoT platforms or smart home solutions, knowledge of Kafka, MongoDB, or GitOps methodologies, and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines or DevOps practices.
  • Personality: You are a collaborative team player who thrives in agile environments, with a proactive personality, a passion for innovation, and a desire to contribute to meaningful, future-oriented projects.
  • Language skills: You communicate confidently in English, both spoken and written. Additional languages like German or Polish are a plus.
