Fullstack JavaScript Developer

In this role as a Fullstack Developer:

  • You will design, build and operate reusable front‑end building blocks for B2B and B2C customer solutions, creating scalable and consistent digital experiences across Vaillant’s product landscape.
  • Your responsibilities will include supporting other development teams by encapsulating reusable functionality into stable, secure and high‑performance backend‑for‑frontend services aligned with clear domain contexts.
  • Together with your colleagues, you will contribute to our Digital Solution Platform by developing and operating plugins for our Backstage developer platform, strengthening developer experience and productivity.
  • You collaborate closely with other developers to build, maintain and operate reusable API services that integrate data from multiple sources of truth in a structured and sustainable way.
  • By applying your experience in Scrum and agile software development, you continuously optimise solutions for business value, quality and long‑term maintainability.
  • Through your hands‑on contribution across frontend and backend, you help shape a modern, future‑ready digital foundation that supports Vaillant’s climate‑focused mission.

 

What makes us successful together

  • Qualification:You hold a degree in computer science or a comparable qualification and bring more than three years of professional experience in software development.
  • Experience:You have hands‑on experience developing React‑based web services using Next.js and JavaScript or TypeScript, ideally in enterprise‑scale environments.
  • Know‑how and skills:You are familiar with enterprise content management system integrations and understand the impact of security, scalability, reliability and sustainability on API design.You bring solid experience in designing and implementing APIs, ideally including complex synchronous and asynchronous integration scenarios in enterprise landscapes.
  • Nice to have:Experience with cloud DevOps practices on Microsoft Azure, building continuous integration and delivery pipelines, working with databases and automated testing, as well as exposure to GraphQL or event‑streaming technologies, is considered an advantage.
  • Personality:You enjoy working collaboratively in cross‑functional teams, communicate openly and reliably, and take ownership of your solutions while continuously striving for improvement.
  • Language skills:You communicate fluently in English, enabling effective collaboration with developers and product owners in an international environment.
