Senior Engineering / Maintenance Improvement Manager

  • In your role as Senior Engineering / Maintenance Improvement Manager, you will build a deep understanding of all manufacturing equipment, production processes and testing technologies, enabling fast problem resolution and empowering colleagues across Engineering and Maintenance. 
  • Your responsibilities will include ensuring full alignment with company policies, actively driving compliance, and fostering a safety-first mindset across all engineering, maintenance and contractor activities. 
  • By taking a proactive role in core team meetings, you will connect Engineering and Maintenance functions, ensure transparent communication, and drive the timely completion of actions that shape our plant performance. 
  • Together with interdisciplinary teams, you are championing continuous improvement initiatives that positively influence key performance indicators such as production attainment, efficiency, quality and scrap reduction. 
  • You will mentor and develop Engineering and Maintenance colleagues, creating an inclusive, respectful and high performing team culture where every individual can reach their full potential 
  • After analysing technical challenges, you will introduce forward-looking solutions that strengthen our equipment reliability and support long term site strategy across both Belper and Derby.

 

What makes us successful together

  • You hold a degree in Electro Mechanical or Chemical Engineering and bring IOSH Working Safely certification. 
  • You offer proven experience at a senior level within both project and maintenance functions, ideally gained across multiple manufacturing industries. 
  • You bring strong technical understanding of manufacturing equipment and processes and can translate technical excellence into practical solutions for diverse teams. 
  • Experience with critical utilities such as compressed gas systems or wastewater treatment facilities adds value to your application. 
  • You are a proactive communicator, a hands on leader and someone who inspires collaboration, trust and accountability across departments. 
  • You demonstrate strong analytical capability, enabling you to evaluate complex engineering and maintenance challenges and translate data-driven insights into sustainable improvements that enhance equipment reliability and overall plant performance.
