What we achieve together
- Lead the ongoing development and continuous improvement of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems across Belper and Derby sites, working collaboratively across HSE, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Maintenance.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Health, Safety, and Environmental systems, policies, procedures, and objectives. Including development and analysis of HSE metrics for senior management reporting and identifying improvement opportunities,
- Prepare for and deliver internal and third-party audits, ensuring all requirements are met.
- Provide competent HSE advice to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and management standards.
- Act as the key contact for regulatory authorities and third-party providers, managing assessment processes, ensuring completion within required timescales, and tracking actions through to completion.
- Collaborate with Group HSE/Engineering teams on emergency preparedness, fire safety, business continuity and sustainability initiatives.
What makes us successful together
- Considerable knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, with proven experience in the development, implementation, and ongoing review of management systems.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation and best practice.
- Previous experience in a similar HSE role within a manufacturing environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to influence at all levels to improve HSE performance
- Experience in the development of written procedures and standards.
- Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach, able to work flexibly, prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and act as a self-starter using own initiative.
- Strong auditing knowledge and skills, with NEBOSH General Certificate (minimum), ideally NEBOSH Diploma or working towards it, and ideally holding or working towards a professional environmental qualification (e.g. IEMA)
