Head of Ind. Prog. Mgm., Asia


  • Tactical ownership of following E2E processes: including market needs to strategy, strategy to portfolio, portfolio to project, project to market launch, market launch to phase out.
  • Drive strategic studies for product groups and define priority for further developments.
  • Develop technology strategy, define long-term target position for respective technologies and ensure technology push consideration in product strategy and product development projects
  • Constantly check the profitability and relevance of the product portfolio and ensure the realisation of all necessary changes.
  • Derive new technical product ideas based on product strategy.
  • Manage and decide upon make or buy decision for own development of products or trading goods.
  • Define product development project roadmap based on product roadmap and Initiate new development projects.
  • Ensure transparency and availability of latest competitor products (e.g. via “war room”). Make data of competitor products available and accessible for product development projects. Analyse and provide detailed information on competitor products based on current and future VG product segments.
  • Comprehensively control the product program according to competitiveness and profitability.
  • Ensure that customer needs and product positioning are realised in new development projects.
  • Balance industrial needs for standardisation vs. brand needs of differentiation. Manage standardisation/differentiation guidelines.
  • Gather “industrial product information”, select customer requirements from Marketing and Sales Program Management and develop and document technical specification incl. legislation aspects and standards in collaboration with Industrial areas.
  • Provide Product Management resources to support actively product development projects.
  • Act as Project Manager in case of strategically important projects.
  • Ensure use of up to date and best practice methods and tools. Enable staff in using those methods and tools.
  • Collect and document product data and align with existing data, including Product Information Management System.
  • Ensure development of employees according to Group values and Program Management vision.
  • Enable Product Managers to best support Industrial projects.
  • Ensure compliancy with all actual regulations and directives of Vaillant Group such as Corporate Governance Manual and Rules of Procedures.
  • Master the heterogeneous interests of Industrial, Finance and Marketing & Sales areas.
  • Influence or change attitude of people if necessary by convincing with arguments derived from strategic thoughts based on facts and figures to achieve company strategy/targets.
  • Develop strong relationship with business partners like NSCs, PM Marketing & Sales, VGS, VGM, Industrial functions in order to create a dynamic and trustful working environment.


  • University degree of technical or economical engineering (Master / Diploma)
  • Above 10 years (ideally in Program or Product Management)
  • Excellent international communication skills
  • business fluent English
  • reliable know how and application of methods and standards in related processes
  • SAP, MS-Office, PLM
